What I have always hated about the winter is driving in the snow. Thats the pits. The one time I totaled a car was right after a blizzard. I had no business on the road but my job at the time was still open for business. Or at least that's what it said on the recording before I left home. I pulled up to an empty parking lot and discovered differently.
The rest of it is very pleasant as long as you can shelter away from the elements. Each heavy snow fall electrically charges the air and brings a feeling of the unexpected. Watching the snow accumulate on trees and fence lines has a feeling of comfort. Seasonal sadness has never had much room in my world because the chill in the air and beauty on the ground feels like home. Even if only because that is where the sweatpants and fluffy socks live.
